Roel from Fryslân, the Netherlands
« on: January 05, 2020, 02:58:31 PM »
Hi,

my name is Roel, 56 years of age, a proud Frisian. I`ve been here under another name, 2016 or so. Lotsa things happened since and i`m back under the alias UZGOOB.

I`m one of the admins of the Dutch Airgunforum Luchtbuks.net and i am one of the boardmembers of a unique aigunrange in de Tike in Fryslân. A 100 metre airgun-only indoor range called Noarderloft (Northen Sky). It`s a small but healthy shooting club with some 70 members. Noarderloft is the pioneer of 100 metre matches with springers. I will tell more about that in another topic.

I`ve got a site too. Fokke Mol Airguns. https://fokkemol.weebly.com/

I have various airguns. I shall introduce `em in another topic.

Take care y`all.

Hi,

i don`t care. I will introduce some of my guns over here, not in another topic like i said.

Let`s  start with the gun wich is my alias. The UZGOOB. Once i traded my Air Arms S410 for a .458.

When i got home from the range M called me. T he news that i had the .458 travelled pretty fast. He wanted his gun back. And fast. 'No problem mate, what am i getting in return?' He told me he had a nice .308. The UZGOOB came into my life. Somewhere in 2011 i think.
The UZGOOB is a gun wich is made from different components, Daystate, Beaumont, Sinner, a CS stock, a GinB triggerguard and a Fokke Mol valve. It`s hard hitting, overr 220 fpe. There`s an old BOS scope on it, in fact the scope is a copy of a Millet scope.

……….

i like Korean airguns. Over here in the Netherlands Shinsung isn`t all that popular. My third PCP was a Shinsung Career III 300 in .22. Dokter Maarten tuned it for me. At some day i traded my old Career III for a brand new Air Ams S400SL. I immediately regretted it so the other week i boughgt me another Career III 300. 10 years later i came across my first Career III 300 and i got the opportunity to buy its stock. When i shoot this 300 people surrounding start cursing and swearing because the 300 is a little loud. This gun spits JSB 18 grain pellets with some 365 m/s (1197 fps). It`s a great gun to shoot.
This one`s a keeper.

This Shinsung Career 201S Fire has a story too. For my job i had to cooperate with the cops in the small city wherre i lived. The Netherlands aren`t  Big Bore minded and the was a change the .357 was about to become illegal. My boss told me that having an illegal weapon could be the reqason fo losing my job.... so i sold the .357. The gun never became illegal and i felt shitty because i sold the gun. After a while i bought a 202S and about the same my old 201S was being sold on the Dutch Airgunboard. I gave the seller a call and told me i wanted my gun back. I traded it for the 202S i bought a few days earlier. This 201S is a keeper. It`s a great had hitting gun. It does some 2 to 3 " groups at 100 metre with 105 Semi Wadcutters.

And ofcourse thee`s the odd Shinsung Career Dagon .50. Completely original.

And last but not the Shinsung Career Infinity in .22. This one`s from the US, this particular gun was never sold in the Netherlands, over here we had the version with the shrouded barrel. I had that one too but obviously i sold it, numbnut i am.

Once i had the Infinity .357 too, had to sell it because i got a huge fine for speeding...…

Oh these are great rifles, images and stories.

My problem is I’m a hoarder.  I buy an Airgun and I keep it. Silly me.

I have a EunJin Sumatra .25 Carbine I’m fond of as well as a Sam Yang 909s .45. It’s fun shooting with iron sights and helped cure me of the blasted Quackenbush flinch.  Lower power, you know?

Hi Steveoh,

i wàs a hoarder once. When i moved to a smaller house i found out i had 65 springers. I sold `em and gave some of `em away. The only one i kept is a BSA Airsporter, i still have that one. Later came a time that i had to sell a gun to be able to buy me another one. Those days are over now.

I have bought guns i didn`t want to own, i was curious how they work. An example is de AGS PCR1, i read that it shot like it had a regulator while it didn`t have a reg. I bought it and took it apart and sold it. The gun is pictured on my FokkeMolAirguns site.

I`m still looking fo that one gun.....dunno wich one that is....i1`m sure it is somewhere…..

Best regards, Roel  8)

Fine collection and wonderful experiences I’m sure. The most intriguing your .308 UZGOOB, for sure. Thanks for sharing, Roel!

I own a Shinsung 9 mm, and it isn't pleasant to shoot. Even with the suppressor on it, it is as loud as a 1911 .45 Colt! Uses too much air too!

Everything I own now, except my 397, are .25 caliber. For the exurban hunting I do, that is all I need. Even the new FX Impact, which should arrive Monday or Tuesday, is a .25 caliber. I already have a copy of the 40 yard target they used to sight the gun in—five shots in one ragged hole! I'm sure I'll love it 'til death do us part!

UZGOOB shoots great.
Nice and simple no nonsens rifle.
Like to shoot it when we are in the north.

Yeah Ronald,

that Rev was one piece o` work. Never had a gun, and never will have a gun wich did so many shots. Ten of thousands, i wouldn`t be if shot 100.000 shots. Never had a gun i took apart so often. There were shoots when the Rev did a few thousands shots. Six mags on one filling, that`s 72 shots. When i sold the gun to some collector in Switzerland the gun was totally worn out.

It`s hanging on a wall now, catching its breath….

Hi Alan,

the Shinsung 9 mm is one of my fave guns. It`s true it`s a blunt kinda airgun, the trigger is rude, its sound is gross and there are people saying it`s no gracious gun. I can agree with that if ya want to, but it`s a pleasure to shoot. 3" groups at 100 metres,

Over here the 9 mm`s are tuned. The valve is machined in a way that more high pressured can pass the valve, the valve seating has an angle to make more air pass.
The spring that closes to valve is replaced by a much lighter spring, we`re putting a powerspring behind the hammer and the valve stem is some 5 mm longer. And over here in the country below sealevel we`re all shooting regulated, dunno if you guys do the same. Mine is doing some 200 fpe.

Take the stock off of your gun and send it over here, i will give a work over, free of costs (only shipping), i`m gonna make you love the 201`.

Take care.

Do not forget to mention we replace the slide closes the  breedge.
The original are bit off bross and they fracture when overstressed.
