Newby from the Cal High desert
« on: December 20, 2016, 04:06:10 PM »
As it says, I'm a newby here and really haven't been on any airgun sites. The only airgun I have right now is a old RWS Model 48 from the late 80's in .177. It's got a RWS model 400S scope but the scope won't hold zero as the zeroing knob keeps moving with each shot. Can't remember which one right now, damn CRS!

Oh no! Another goat herder!

Oh well, I guess it is better than another monkey.

In any case, welcome aboard.

Travis? If he is indeed a goat herder, don't you suspect he herds those goats on Mt. Shasta?

Sorry guys, I haven't been back in awhile. Since my post I've bought a Aspen in .22 and a Nova Liberty also in .22. Just finished reassembling my Liberty after having the TP enlarged to .217 from stock and the power wheel replaced with a steel one also opened up to .217. I live in the mojave desert right below big bear so I'm in the SoCal. I replaced the old RWS 400S scope with the cheapy scope that came with the Aspen and mounted it with a Knock off Diana ZR mount that I drilled and tapped for set screws to remove the slop.

Very good.

I have always liked the .22 Marauder I own, but once I opened up the port to .162, that gun came alive! Fact is, it shoots just as fast as it used to (≈880), but gets almost twice the shots after backing off the spring a few turns.
