Scope
« on: January 05, 2020, 05:12:34 AM »
I admire anyone who is willing (and capable) in producing and/or modifying airguns for the pleasure they bring to owner and admirer alike. This said, I don't think I have ever heard of anyone building their own rifle scope.

I know it has been done years ago, when rifle scopes were really expensive. Does anyone know of someone who has built his/her own scope of recent?

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

Too long ago, I was interested in building my own rifle scope.  Edmund Scientific back in the day would supply lenses and
a booklet for making your own rifle scope.  Some where I may still have this booklet, but building a rifle scope back in my
teens was beyond my ability.  A few years later I checked back with them, but Edmund no longer offered the instruction
booklet or supported building your own rifle scope.  Kits and lens are still offered for building telescopes.  I have a home
made scope out of an estate, well made tube but poor lens and not internally adjustable.  A friend had the equipment for
grinding lenses, but had no way of coating them.
