Laser Engraved Stock
« on: March 01, 2020, 01:57:40 PM »
This stock was donated to me so I could practice laser engraving pictures on a gun stock.  It's a QB78 Thumbhole and the grain is really quite nice.  I stripped the old finish and sanded it smooth before laser engraving the the image.  A member of another forum had posted a want ad looking for a QB78 Thumbhole stock, so I reached out to him and offered him this one once I was done.  He donated the image he wanted on it, so today I laser engraved it to the stock.  I think it came out pretty nice.  I just need to box it up and send it to him, he's going to finish it with his choice of stain and finish.  I can't wait to see the finished stock!

Now you got me curious. Besides the airgun and laser hobbies, what do you actually do to keep food on the table?

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

Thanks guys!  It came out a tad darker than my test run, but you never know how different woods react to the laser.  I still think it came out great and it's future owner is thrilled!  Win-win!

Looks good. I tried to get my friend to do stuff like that but just keeps doing tumblers and a few other things. I did play around with it.
