Title: Easy clay targets
Post by: Septicdeath on March 22, 2020, 04:59:59 PM
A couple of months ago I made a video of how to make reactive clay targets. I have been making these for many years. They are easy and inexpensive to make.

They do work!

Many years ago (70 or so), there was an article in Popular Science magazine, about this very technique for  "BB" gun targets. At the time, you used a greased cupcake pan, and mixed red food dye for the first layer which was about 1/4 inch thick. The second layer was a very thin one without the red dye, poured over the now hard first layer. Even if the BB didn't break the target, the white layer would chip off, showing the red underneath. Sort of like a Shoot-n-see target. Interesting that you've rediscovered the technique!
