Title: The Marauder got here from WAR
Post by: Alan on May 04, 2016, 01:11:31 PM
Oh! My! This .25 caliber, Marauder-based, regulated, SSG equipped, carbon-fiber tanked wonder was the brainchild of WAR. It is eerily quiet, plants pellets in the same hole at 25 yards, and has one of the best triggers I've ever used.

I didn't have the correct scope rings for it, so I went to my local gun shop, who just happened to have what I needed. Got the scope mounted, gun sighted in, and back to the store to use their 25 yard range. I can't tell you the exact phrase the store owner used, but is was a great John Belushi line from Animal House! He sells American Air Arms rifles, and this WAR-Wonder, makes those guns sound like a canon going off!

I am duly impressed! And thanks to Travis at WAR, happy too!

How can we truly experience your giddy enthusiasm without pics, or a video of  beer can homicide?

Well... Darn it! Ask Travis! After all, he tested the gun before I got it. Fact is, I just got back from a short trip to the pigeon farm. Five shots, four pigeons. Why? I got buck fever on the first pull down! So shoot me!

Pics or it NEVER happened Alan! lol But, remember that 25 yards is a baby target for a .25, 50 and further are what matters for a custom Marauder, of any caliber! hehehe

Alan, I do believe I speak for all when I say "please post pics or prepare for banishment".  That is all.

I think hes having to much fun shooting it today to stop and take pictures. He has one of the best Mrods Ive ever built and its as accurate as it is silent and its nearly completely silent.

What was the cost to have everything you had done?

What was the cost to have everything you had done?

Someone famous once said, "If you have to ask then you can't afford it. "

Here are the links for two photos. Travis took one with the Discovery scope mounted in his shop. The other I took this morning after I got back from shooting 150 ct. tin of JBS Kings through the rifle. I even made one very clean off hand, 50 yard shot on a pigeon. I held one dot over, and pow! Not bacd for being sighted in really quickly yesterday afternoon. Out of all 150 shots, I missed just 9 times. Sounds terrific, but most of the shots were under 30 yards. This gun is a tack-holer! Fact is, when I was sighting it in, I managed to place 5 shots at 25 yards into what looks like a 30 caliber hole. So, I think I have declared WAR! By the way, if you want the pricing you'll have to discuss that with Travis, as he makes each one to order so to speak. By the way, the rails will be here tomorrow so I can attach the bipod. I shot most everything today over a beanbag.

I want to add one more thing. Both Travis and I mentioned how quiet the gun is. This morning, I made several shots within 4 feet of the chicken coup. Not one peep was heard if you'll excuse the pun. If I had been shooting my 397, they would have all scattered. Yes, it is indeed that quiet.

It was how the FLEX came to be and dam near the same price to build but Alan got a GUILD deal. I have enough parts to make 1 more and that will be the end of it. If anyone wants the last one PM me for specs and pricing.

Is that 2 different bottles I am seeing? Are they interchangeable while charged? If so that is AWESOME! What is the total air capacity of the rifle? We are still waiting for a group, at 50 YDs, not 25! 25 YDs is baby stuff Alan! Go big or go home!

But that is a pretty neat looking rifle you have there. Just stretch er out to her full potential and I guarantee you will be much more happy with her! Especially with a bottle!

Here is a teaser for you, hehehe

Eliminating half egg shells at 55 YDs, notice the hold-under!

Two different guns one regulated with carbon bottle(Alans) and one unregulated steel bottle(mine). No you cant switch out bottles while under pressure.

Ahhh, now that makes more sense now Travis, my eyes just went straight to the bottles naturally!

So does this have the WAR valve in it?

I have always, really liked that design since the first time I saw one on WAR web page but the parts were always out of stock. Between this gun, (if equipped with the WAR valve) and the Warp I ordered... I don't know which one I would prefer. That bottled beast is a beauty, nice catch.
