Prod Air Tube Specs
« on: March 03, 2017, 02:58:31 AM »
Can someone please tell me what the specs are on the Marauder pistol air tube?
Please include:
1. Length
2. O.D.
3. I.D. or Wall thickness

And, dimensions on the gauge block would be nice too :) Length and I.D. of thru hole (if it's like the Mrod rifle)

Thank ya much,
Chris

Isn't that the same as the disco?  I guess the valve is pinned differently (larger screws perhaps?) in the prod the reason the prod is 3k fill and the disco 2k fill.

Thanks,
Chris

Yes, the PRod, Disco, Maximus, and 22XX tubes are all dimensionally the same.... and the PRod tube is the same length as a 2260 tube.... The 22XX tubes have a "safety warning roll stamp", which ironically reduces the strength of the tube somewhat (depending on how deeply it is stamped).... Nobody but Crosman knows if the material they use for all the tubes is the same steel, and they ain't sayin'.... The Disco tube was supposedly tested to 14Ksi, and if it is the most common "good quality" DOM tubing (A513 Type 5), that agrees 100% with the predicted burst pressure.... My guess is that the PRod tube is made from the same material....

All the various guns use a different way of securing the valve.... In the 22XX, they use a single 6-40 screw, because it only holds the valve in place against the CO2 cartridge.... In a Disco, they use three 8-32 pan-head screws with 5/16" heads that are NOT as strong as the PRod screws (which is why they need three for 2000 psi).... The PRod used three 8-32 high-tensile low-profile screws with a smaller 17/64" head for its 3000 psi fill.... The Maximus uses two screws that LOOK the same for it's 2000 psi fill, which would make sense....
