FYI

I'm just getting into the PCP business, having purchased a Hatsan AT44QE from Travis (the first rate proprietor of Wicked Air Rifles).

I also bought a Freedom 8 compressor, dryer, and 16 cf air tank (Guppy) from AirTanksForSale. Finally got around to filling the tank this morning. At 120 psi into the F8, it took exactly 3 hours to go from 0 to 4,500 psi (I was expecting it to take 6 hours). The pressure switch stopped the pump at exactly 4,500 psi, as advertised. The time from 3,000 to 4,500 (typical refill) was ≈75 minutes. Obviously a few bucks spent, but it sure beats going through what I did with the local dive shop—they couldn't find an adapter to fill the tank!

If I have a criticism, it's the manual which came with the F8. The "instructions" describe how to lubricate the unit using the supplied silicon oil. That's fine, but what they don't tell you is, you have to lube it before you use it! I did lube it first, but I wonder how many folks have tried to fill a bottle without lubing it first?

All-in-all, the experience has been good, at least so far. The rifle should arrive Wednesday or Thursday, and then the truth in the pudding will be in the eating, so to speak.

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

Rams are lubed during assembly ... so your likely just fine.
Tho do lube from now on as recommended.

Of course!

What I did was start a journal to keep track of the running times. Based on the data which came with the unit, I suspect I won't have to lube it again until 2018! But I will, of course!
