Cricket
« on: March 22, 2020, 04:03:40 PM »
I just wanted to circle back on the thread I started here in the Ask Bob forum:

https://airgunguild.com/ask-bob/regulated-gun-tuned-on-the-down-slope/

I found that the used gun that I bought did not have a standard firing valve spring.  Check out the difference between the one I had the OEM:

And while I still have some "work" that remains to get the efficiency and velocity adjustment range where I want it, the gun IS more consistent.  I shot a 48-shot string (4 mags) and only had 7 FPS spread across 'em!

:-)

That valve spring on the right looks like a valve spring for my Cummins.

Whomever replaced it, must have thought himself a "specialist".

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

Yeah, the best I can figure I am at least the 3rd owner and I suspect each has added their own special touch to the gun.  Ultimately, this gun is worth the effort.  I'm digging it much more than I expected!

I upped the reg to 120 bar and added some additional preload to the firing valve spring.  So far this is the best string I have shot with the cricket:

60 shots with an extreme spread of 12 fps (1.35%)   ;D
