My Mom introduced me to that era of music. Still love it.

The inspiration for multiple generations of musicians and lovers of all kinds of music. Without Little Richard the Beatles, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, and Prince (just a few off of the top of my head) would not have existed or at the very least been very different.

Little Richard was so good that even though being openly gay he avoided most of the jokes and being made a sport of. Think about that for a bit. Jim Nabors was the same way. Come to think of it, Little Richard didn't have many friends but he did have 'Nabors' up the ass.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Rest in peace, L.R. and thanks for the music.

All's forgiven.

The Rock & Roll era is still with us, but in a much-changed form. The same can be said for Country-Western music. And let's not forget Bluegrass. They are all morphed into one nowadays! As a result of all of this bastardization, I don't turn on the radio except to catch the news once in a while.

Especially of 'country' music. All tastes aside, new country sounds like a combination of bad 80's pop and 70's soft rock. Give me the 'gold' country of rhinestone suits, slide steel guitar, outlaw style, and songwriting skill.

If Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Eagles, The Outlaws, or similar bands started out now they would be country not rock & roll, and that's a shame.

The only new country I like is Wheeler Walker.

You are so right Alan,  When we are in the truck all we listen to are the oldie stations or the CD

Hi,

i grew up with LR, made sure my kids got to know his music too. Just like Chuck Berry`s music, Fats`s, Jerry Lee Lewis`s and that led to love for music. All of my kids love music.

One of my kids is dropping by every second week or so, we`re drinking a few beers and we`re listening to music. He listens to the music i listen and i listen to the music he`s listening to. we`re going to concerts together and sometimes take my daughter too.

Music is kinda important.

Anyone seen John Fogarty`s efforts to get all of us help to cope with Covid-19?

Take care.
