It should be showing you a GIF, you might have to wait for it to load.... We had a large Cottonwood tree taken down that was right next to my shop/garage....

After I used developer tools to inspect the missing space, the gif loaded. Odd.

I have cottonwoods in my backyard, and I'm not to pleased with them. They eat up all the water we use for the fruit trees and it's a struggle. So I shoot them.  :o

A few years ago, one of my neighbors had a pool installed in their back yard. The original plan was to put it on its side, and roll it into the back yard by removing some of the fencing. It didn't fit! So, they hired a crane to hoist it over the house. It took about one hour, and I filmed it all in HD, replete with DolbyDigital sound.

To this day, when I review the DVD, I'm amazed at the talent some people have. That guy up in the tree top, either has talent, of more intestinal fortitude that I have!!!

He has TALENT.... and a huge knowledge of trees as well.... At the moment we have a pile of rounds on the snow, they will be back today to split it all, as a neighbor wants it for firewood.... It was really interesting to see him take down the bottom 15 feet of the trunk.... He cut the felling notch, pierced the heartwood of the tree with his chainsaw to weaken it, drove in wedges, and used 3 guys tugging on a rope on the top to pull it over.... By the time it fell, there was only about 8 sq.in. of wood left uncut, in two small areas, one on each side of the hinge....

You can see how little wood was holding up that massive trunk at the end.... Amazing job!!!!

Hi Bob, hope you’re doing well.  That prolly set you back a $1K or so

I too have “sensitivities”.  When spring comes you’re gonna have to either poison or bush hog the suckers that will come up.

Nice site guys!  Yet another, well implemented, simple machine.

SteveOh, thnx for standing up and identifying yourself as an “engineer”.  Otherwise I might have dismissed or filtered you as yet another sales/marketing weenie waving the UI/UX banner.  Thnx again….

Briefly scanned the “ding Donger” thread.  I reckon that fellow knows how to use the tools mentioned.  I too do.  Constantly amazed by the talents I’ve noted in the bb gun forums.

Couple notes/niggles…….

The light blue txt on bright white background might be tough to see.  Might need to clean my glasses though.

While I appreciate the “admonition” w/regards to not resurrecting the dead ……… in light of your overwhelming traffic, I might reconsider that.  Don’t want to discourage anybody.  Go ahead let them resurrected the dead.  Might get a conversation started…..

I’ll check in again.

Apologies for wondering a bit off topic…….

The stump was 32" x 30" and he figures about 60-70 years old.... Height was, at a guess, 70-80 ft.... Cost to take it down and split it up.... over $3K....

I've removed four trees since I've lived on my current property. Thankfully, the city has a grapple-type truck, and they'll pick up for free, twice a year. The rest was my sweat, and in some cases, tears!
