Well, Captain, you've got a ways to catch up.  If I didn't forget anyone, it is 13 grand children, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Does anyone think that getting my dad a fishing reel is a good gift idea for father’s day? Fixed spool reels come in a huge variety of sizes, colors and configurations. Some have front drags, some have rear drags, some have single handles, some have double handles. So, that's exactly why I get lost when trying to pick a reel. I did end up looking into under-the-open-sky.com/best-spincast-reels and I saw a few reels that I did like. It seems that the fixed spool reel makes for a great all-round reel, they can be used for float fishing, legering, lure fishing, trotting, specimen fishing or match fishing, this is definitely the most versatile reel available. Should I just get it?

The truth is, cheap reels catch as many fish as the fancy ones. Like airguns, it is all in the technique!
