Hallo from South Africa
« on: November 29, 2016, 10:10:25 AM »
Hallo everybody, my name is Hein Breytenbach and i am from the little town called Virginia, in South Africa. Thank you all for letting me join your forum. I do belong to some other forum, but is looking (and found) a forum where the members is building/modify/tuning etc.
I love airguns, i also love building things for them, and by that i mean... complete benchrest gun .177, windflags, pellet headsize sorting device, frontrests, silencers (perfectly legal in south africa) , a pellet turning lathe, resize die press, a comlete .22 pest control gun, and some other things . Wil post photos if anybody is interested.
A major disadvantage living here is the lack of any airgun shop, everything has to be ordered and send by post. also lack of anybody interested in "tuning and building" airguns. Pretty much on my own.
I am planning (during December holiday period) to get rid/improve the dreaded hammer bounce on all my airguns.   Any advice welcome. :)

Now if i can only learn to shoot....... ;D

Welcome Hein.  Very good of you to join us.  Please post pics of your work and you may want to look up the posts with the SSG mod done by our very own Travis (oldpro).  Bob (rsterne) created the idea and it is very helpful in reducing and removing hammer bounce.

Hummm. Let us see. If whirlpools (eddies) rotate in the opposite direction south of the Equator, perhaps the solution to accurate shooting there, is to use a left hand twist like Colt does. You suppose?

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.
