Project p-rod mostly complete.
« on: July 27, 2016, 08:07:44 PM »
Well guys I finally got it together and shooting close to where I want it. 2400 fill nets 16 shots from 829-847-835 with 14.3s ending at 1500ish. It's a good hunting power level in a light gun with a tiny air capacity. I tried a bstaley tune and couldn't get 3 mags with a decent spread. So I removed orings, and turned some screws all old fashioned like. Anyways heres a pic and if anyone has any questions ask away.

Update: retuned today for 3000 fill 16 shots 821-832-824 2250ish end pressure, 33 pump strokes to refill. If I had a tad more air volume I could do 3 mags I can now but the spread is 4x fps

I don't really know, but guesstimate around 6.5 lbs scope and all.

Nice looking Prod w/Mrod barrel and NC LDC.
I have 2 Prod's, one w/JG HF 20" barrel sporting a Rocker1 LDC and another mini rod 25 cal w/WAR shroud.
They are some sweet shooting guns & light weight too.

Hey screw, you got any numbers on your long barrel prod? I partially want to leave it alone, but part of me thinks I can get it better.

Thanks dairy, yea it's super light. I cranked it wide open earlier today and it will do over 30 fpe but only 6 usable shots...so I slapped 4 orings in the tube and backed the hammer throw down to only around 1/8 of a turn and backed the hammer spring down to 4.5 turns and ended up with what I have currently.

Josh,
Current tune is for rabbit hunting right now and I usually shoot one mag, 8 shots at 930fps or 32fpe then refill back to 2800 psi.
Barrel is opened up to 0.160 dia and valve & transfer ports are opened up to 0.180 dia.  My 12" barrel is opened up to 0.180 dia and it will shot at 40fpe easily for 5 shots.

See I couldn't get a good 1 mag string without being peaky with too much spread.

My valve has been opened up for high flow so that maybe that's why I can get more shots then you maybe and no orings behind the valve either. I have the gun part right now for a few more valve mods and transfer port work. It should breath a lot easier once I done.
Once I'm done with working on the Prod I'll post up my results. She's gonna be smoking hot Prod once all of the work is done.
