Florida's First Airgun Whitetail! Texan .45
« on: October 27, 2018, 11:54:06 AM »
My niece took this nice little doe yesterday evening with my brother's .45 Texan. Shot distance was 50 yards or a bit more. Ammo was a Lee 45-70 button collar bullet.

Great video and hunting!

About how far away did the deer end up from where it was shot?

Don’t you get nervous walking through the palmetto at night like that? Lots of snakes in that stuff, I know because I lived in Central Florida for 15 years. Shiver. I hate moccasins.

The deer ended up about 35 yards away, although it traveled further because it made a circle.

Yes, snakes are a real danger. Normally I wear knee-high snake boots. I was in sneakers that evening and my work polo just because I hadn't changed since I got home. I'm not sure why I didn't throw my snake boots on.
