2017—Banner yar for coyotes?
« on: March 06, 2017, 01:45:16 PM »
Last year, I only saw one coyote, and he was miles from town. This after spending several day trips to hunt them, and not getting even one in close enough to see, much less shoot. However, so far this year I have shot three, and I didn't call any of them in, they were just there! Then yesterday morning, I saw two more about 250 yards away.

Last Winter, we had a lot of moisture, so perhaps that is why I'm seeing so many in the exurban areas (just outside city limits) where I have permission to hunt predators.

I wonder if others are having the same experience?

I haven't but my wife saw alot of coyotes multiple times in a field on her way to work this last month. I have seen an abundance of other animals though now that we too have gotten a very wet fall and winter. I suspect a fun year for pesting

We had a turkey hanging around the office last week in Walnut Creek. He was mesmerized by his own reflection in the Windows. I guess he finally realized that he wasn't gonna get a girl friend after two days of this.

Meanwhile there are daily reports coming from Benicia, homeowners freaked out because another coyote running down the street with fluffy or yappy in their jaws.

I keep volunteering my AirGun services for folks who find Wiley in the backyard but so far no takers. Sigh.
