Yes, and it hasn't only been FX who have suffered. It seems, after all, that some people have to make a name for themselves, at the expense of others.

Common themes in marketing these days: fear and slander. Not to mention people with a keyboard and a voice that should learn when to stifle. "Influencers"; I hate that term. It's just someone with more time on their hands than they need and an ego that needs constant feeding. And unfortunately, there are plenty of sheep and lemmings to lap it up.

Something similar happened in my industry (tile and stone) some years back. One of the major producers of quartz slabs for countertops ran a smear campaign against natural stone slabs (granite) saying that they contain radioactive elements that contaminated food and caused long term health problems. The truth is that granite DOES contain minute levels of radioactive particles, but no more than a sidewalk, patio, or landscape rock. The only health issues are from quarrying/fabricating and breathing in particulates over decades of working in the industry. That launched the 'quartz craze' and I can't count how many times I had to talk customers off of the ledge because they wanted their granite countertops torn out before they grew a third leg or got keloids all of their bodies.

I use Air Arms pellets because they are often available when JSB pellets are not.

If a company bad mouths another company I automatically check them out and often buy the competing product or service. First rule of sales, don't bad mouth the competition.
