Morning All

Just a quick hello and introduction, I live in London, England and have joined here to really learn and absorb as much info as I can regarding airgun ballistics from some of you.

I run a small company making hand swaged slugs in the UK and need / want to expand my knowledge and understanding further regarding ballistics and associated topics.

At the risk of being contentious the 12ft/lb legal limit here (in the UK) gives a rather constrained environment and subsequent exposure that imo can limit experience & understanding as it is outside of the scope of the local environment. As I am looking to increase the current product range I have encountered various challenges that has enticed me to look further afield.

So I have in my internet travels found your good selves and so in advance ask your indulgence if some of my enquiries are naive as I am trying to learn as fast as I can.

Welcome aboard Geoff. Your second visit here, should be Bob Sterne's forum. He has designed several different slugs which are now being manufactured by various companies.

I have a Hill EC-3000 compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your tank as a courtesy (4,250 PSI limit).

Thanks Alan

tbh it was Bob's articles that guided me here, Miles had pointed me in his direction after some conversations with him, am eagerly awaiting the 177/20 dies from NOE, would be great if they could introduce a back in stock button to save my weekly checks  ;D

Yes it would.

The switchover to slugs has been a jerky story over the last decade or so. The big bore guys have been using them for some time. Bob Sterne et.al. have been on the forefront, but not in the traditional airgun calibers. We'll never see the end of pellets, any more than we will for the venerable .22LR. But I suspect the majority of airgun manufacturers will be making "slug" gun models very soon. That put you on the forefront too.
