The GTA and The Guild Two forums with similar Ideas
« on: January 18, 2016, 08:33:43 PM »
Why would I start a new forum when there is already a very good forum(The GTA). Some would say and most likely will that Im stealing other forum members and ideas and making them my own!  Well that couldnt be further from the facts first they are not loosing any members at all because of this forum believe me. I see all these members from the Guild and GTA and AGN etc. on all the other forums and they were all here before the Guild. I see every night GTA members, Guild members Yellow members AGN members posting  threw the various gates on various threads. Without competition there is no growth and that goes threw out every industry period!!! If all the forums shut down and their was only one forum it would be pure chaos could you imagine if all forms of transportation shut down and everyone had to take a cab!!!I believe a few well put together forums benefit each other more than hamper each other. One might post in one thread and cross share that post in another forum like I see daily. The only problem I see today is forums not cooperating and pulling posts and threads and issuing warnings to those who share links to other Forums. This NAZI behavior will only piss off the members and force them to look elsewhere for their nightly airgun entertainment. The Guild and GTA area a few of the only forums who do not over moderate and try to force their members to post ONLY in their forums. I hope other forums take note because this is a serious issue. Thank you all TW

I have only been into the airgun hobby for a couple years. When I started getting into the different forums, I found this forum doesn't like /bans this prominent guy (or dealer), that forum doesn't like/bans that guy (or dealer).

Sheesh, too much drama!  What is this high school????!!!

On the positive side, I have found some fine folks on each of the forums where I participate, and have learned a bunch. I occasionally even get to share back to someone newer. And I've noticed that the forums each develop a "personality" over time as folks with a particular interest center on one or the other.  I personally enjoy the diversity and like to sandbag on any forum with an active enough membership to keep active discussion.

Any forum, which doesn't act like a Nazi, is great as far as I am concerned. I do realize that some policing is a requirement, and even a necessity, I'd rather see a lean towards the right, rather than the left.

If I am sorry about anything, it was my $50 donation to GTA. The reason for my regret is mine, so don't ask!

If the Old Man (euphemistically of course), will give me a mailing address, I'll be happy to send a donation. I do not do PayPal (ugh), but I have to assume a check is okay? How about $100?

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

I feel that diversity is important.  I am only active on a few forums.  But the forums I am active on have what I am interested in and that is why I stay with them.  I believe the Guild is a forum that will offer members the opportunity to express themselves more freely.  Yes, there will be policing of the Guild, but it won't be done to the point of having members wanting to leave.  So, everyone have fun, speak your mind and respect the Guild, the members and the reason we are all here...our sport.
