I have a good friend who is sort of responsible for me getting into PCPs. And worse, spending big bucks with too many people, especially Travis! In a recent email, he suggested I lube my pellets, and swab the barrel once every 500 rounds or so with oil! Since I've already had an issue with a used PCP where oiled pellets been used, I'm skeptical!
So far, I have shot ±1,000 rounds through my WAR-ized Marauder, and all I have done is put a VERY light daub of silicon grease on the bolt. I haven't lubed of cleaned the barrel, and it appears shiny and clean. It must be, because it puts pellets at 50 yards into one ragged hole.
Since lead is a fairly good lubricant by itself, why would anyone want to lube their pellets or oil the barrel?
