With the coming of Summer, hunting possibilities change, typically for the better. Prairie dogs, ground squirrels, and gophers are all fair game. And so are pigeons, Eurasian doves, and house sparrows. Oh goody!

I have been trying to get an O ring (Dowty) from air gun depot for awhile. Today got this email. (RJ tech) quote " do to changes in corporate law we cannot sell parts. Gun must be returned for repair. All I needed was a O ring for the gauge. I then called air ventura and they told me the same thing, They can no longer sell parts of any gun by federal mandate. I can send the gun back but they can't send me an O RING. I kept the email. Air ventura told me where they were , any air gun over 5 foot pounds energy is considered a firearm, this was on the phone. But I could send them my avenger to fix but they could not send out parts. What the heck, did we miss a back door white house move??.

I have been calling around and cannot find any state with a  5 FPE limit. Although no one would sell me the washer part if they sold airguns. So I had to out source the Dowty seal. Makes no sense

Alan

Send me the OD size in mm. I'll see if I have one.

I have a Hill EC-3000 compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your tank as a courtesy (4,250 PSI limit).

Thanks all, I ordered some.  My big concern is this rule or, whatever it is that stops them from selling us a part, if I knew how to put it up here, the email that is I would.

I went round and round with Pyramyd last year over a set of o-rings for a Sumatra or 909s. They would not give a list of o-rings needed. They finally agreed to sell me a set for a ridiculous amount of course.

Funny thing their sizes did not correspond with the sizes that others specified. It's bloody nonsense.

If you go to FX and look at parts diagrams they specify the o-ring size, as they should.

I went nosing around at Airgun Depot and found this:

Under Accessories/misc
Does the link work for you and can you put them in the cart to order?

Give me the size you need. I will mail them too you if I have the correct ones. NO CHARGE!

The small ones I have a M6 size. They measure .458 OD.

The next smaller size is M4, and I don't have any of those. But, Amazon lists them in an assortment.

This may be more about liability or trouble that they are trying to avoid and nothing to do with anything coming from the Fed's

It's a messed up world we are living in when a fellow cannot buy a O-ring or seal.

I have orded from outside source so I will have extra. So thanks all. It still ticks me off that they(airgun depot) would not take the time to sell me a seal that was listed on their site. Thanks for all the info.

Hi folks, I'm a new member, and I just got that email from RJ at AirVenturi.  Similar but different.  "Unfortunately due to new corporate changes we no longer sell any parts unless they are offered online at Pyramyd Air"
So you then find that they offer a scant few parts on the online store.

This looks to me like a business decision that they have made for their own profit and convenience.  As I said in a text message: "if I buy a Chevy the dealer will sell me parts".

I won't do business with them again if they only support their products at my expense.

Sam, I agree. About the only thing I have purchased from Pyramyd is pellets. They have always had an order 4, pay for 3. I assume they still do, but I no longer shoot pellets. I did order two EC-3000 Hill Compressors from them, and got a load of Buckeye Bucks. Except, I can't use about about 5 to 10 at a time, on any given order. I guess having about 5,000 Buckeye Bucks doesn't count? So... I concur!
