I just received my anemometer from Alan. Can't wait to use it! The hardest thing about it is not calling it an 'anemone meter' since I'm (i.e. 'was') a west coast abalone diver!
Thanks Alan. Donation sent.

Close! No cigar! But I loved it anyway!
Oh! How deep?
-
How deep as far as diving goes? I was a shallow diver...usually no more than 12' with a limit of about 15' to 18'. Bad ears and I can't clear. No big deal though, abalone are (were) everywhere. You'd see 20 or more legal (7") sized ones on a dive. Finding 9" to 10" abs is another story. That takes secret hard to get to spots and/or deep (30') dives. No tanks allowed. All free diving.

Alan sent me one of these too! I have played with it once. Then again I haven't shot my airguns since finding it in the mail box. Soon!

I actually sent the importer an email, asking for a better price if I bought a bunch of them. I didn't get anywhere. I tried the manufacturer, but they too told me the price is the price, except if I bought 25 of them, I could receive them postage paid. The idea was, to get more folks into using anemometers, by offering them at a discount. Didn't work but I did try!

I bought an anemometer from China last year.... The reading peaks at about 5 mph and doesn't go higher.... ::)

I bought one on Amazon- ASIN# B01JOTJMU6 for around 12 beans, works fine for giving me a better than guesstimate on the wind. Though the wind 100 feet away is probably different from where I'm standing and if I have the time to punch in my data on Chairgun or Strelok it seems to get me on the X a little better.
Also use it in the blind to help estimate the speed of the birds flying into or with the wind. Now if I can figure a way to get the skybusters in the other blinds from flaring birds...................... >:(
