Agreed, the 45 Slayer rifle would be a great candidate to present to IL DOC. Im from MO but I would def like to deer hunt in IL as well since I have family there too. I'm patiently waiting and excited about getting my 45 Slayer BP when they come out.

The Slayer is a much better thought out gun then many others on the market.  Tom uses the right barrel twist which matches his magazine size which matches his power plant and when you sync it all together you end up with a very accurate gun.  Not to mention his valve system and other engineering that went into the gun design.  There is no comparison to this and a Texan for example.  The Texan is OK, and a lot cheaper, but not as well engineered and for sure has the wrong barrel twist for the caliber - imo.

I am going to buy a .308 Slayer - wood stock.  I probably won't buy anything larger because they do not allow deer hunting in California with air rifles.  I do think the .308 will make a great coyote gun and that is what I plan to use it for.

I have made a decision (with the wife's urging and whispers in my ear) going to buy a 909s in 45 and sending it to saddle mountain gunsmith for a spa treatment. When I get it back the shot string should look like this.896 919 891 850 on a 3k fill using 180 grain

I have a few slugs that will work great in that gun - cast slugs so very affordable.  One is on there now, the 45 caliber EPP slug.  Another I hope to have in a couple of weeks if testing goes good.
