One, two, three, four patches
« on: November 20, 2021, 01:56:56 PM »
Over the past few weeks in prep for Turkey season I’ve shot a bunch of pellets and slugs through the Bulldog while in the shop. I put a 5 gallon bucket stuffed full of rubber mulch opposite the business end of the Bulldog, with a concrete tube lined with egg crate foam in between. This makes the Bulldog sound like WHOooP instead of a loud 38 special level muzzle blast.

I set up the FX Radar and that way I can figure how many consistent shots I get.

After all these test shots I imagine to be over a hundred, I finally figured I’d better clean the barrel.

Cleaning took one, two, three, four patches, and zero scrubbing with a brush. This is the result of doing a deep clean when I got the new to me Bulldog, and then first coating the bore with M-Pro7 and then coating all projectiles with 10 weight RC silicone shock oil.

Four patches and I’m done. Previous to this it might take me an hour to clean a big bore barrel.

Awesome results!  That makes shooting much more enjoyable not having to worry about cleaning the barrel.
