I've been working on it this week and I finally got the last piece of my puzzle today (wrap for the scope) via Amazon. I oh-so wish that I could attach photos but I won't bore with some of my camera/electronic troubles. I just can't bring myself to deal with the hassle of going to the phone store (which isn't open anyway) to deal with replacement.
I got the camo stencils and shot the whole gun five different colors: olive drab base coat and tan/green/dark brown/black accents. The beautiful tank cover that Loren made is not only really nice and comfortable on the cheek, but it serves another purpose. The paint didn't dry particularly well on the 'rubber' part of the Airforce bottle. While it didn't just rub off, it stayed tacky and was annoying. The tank cover completely solved that!
The scope wrap is just the simple self-adhesive-stretchy-camo tape. Nothing fancy. That was what I was waiting on to get it up and running; I didn't want to put the scope back on before wrapping it.
When I'm able I'll post a pic. It's not professional, it's not perfect, there are three different types of patterns/shades. But I'm SO HAPPY with it. I had grown weary of the 'Big Black Gun' and wanted something unique. I got exactly what I wanted and it will serve it's purpose very well. One of the coolest things about a paint job like this is that you can't f*** it up. Also it sort of 'morphs' as you're doing it...a little bit of 'make it up as you go'.
Stay safe, sane, and healthy
