Digital gauges have been with us for about 2 years give or take, albeit these folks are rather new at it. But I do question whether they are really necessary? In other words, will depending $200 for new gauges, significantly improve the accuracy? I really doubt it, because air pressure is just one variable of many.

Digital pressure gauges are cool me thinks especially if I can see the dang things without changing glasses or peering over them.

What I think we need are digital gauges that nag us:

I don't rely on the gauge, unless I'm checking what's left. Since I have a compressor out at the ranch, I even stopped worrying about that as well.
