Decided to move the ATN X-Sight ll from the Sumatra and on the Marauder.
I’ve had three non-immediate kills on rats recently and I’m scratching my head. Something is whackadoodle on the Sumatra and I need to take it down and take a look see. Hoping it’s not yet another valve stem.
So I installed the X-Sight and got it zeroed in at 25 and 35 yards. Also I’m shooting up at the targets and that’s what zeroed at. Cupped my hand over the lens to form a pinhole, then switched over to Infrared and did some test shots to make sure POI didn’t change from daylight to night. Test shots look ok.
On old school 35mm cameras, lenses often had a different infrared focus reference because the infrared light has a different focus point. The x-sight showed this correctly.
Anyway, I smelled the last rat that took a gut shot but still managed to crawl under the fence to my neighbors yard just out of reach. It screamed but that wasn’t enough. I guess I’m breeding a Super Rat fattened up with peanut butter and toughened up with Ghost Pepper that use to ward off the possums. Even the possums shake off the pepper heat.
I sure hope I don’t cause downfall of western civilization due to a Super Rat taking over the world.
