Night vision scope kit
« on: January 05, 2020, 03:51:31 PM »
Have been wanting to add a night vision device to my arsenal, but to be honest, the cost are outragous. However i did find this scope kit on Ebay. It claims to fit any scope, and works in zero light. Anyone ever use/buy one of these? Are they legit? Any help appreciated.

I have one, and I gave a couple away right here on the Guild. I think I paid about $110 when they were first introduced.

It is passible, and if you only night hunt once in a while, they're ok. With the included IR light, it is good out to about 60 years or so. I've killed a few gray fox with it, and that's about as dark as any predator you'd run across at night.

The only comments I have centers around the way it is attached to the scope. I solved that by using some thin plastic sheet, wrapped around the scope before attaching the camera tube. But what the hey, at $70 it is worth the effort. By the way, you'll need three 18160 batteries, and a charger for them. Cheap on eBay too!

I have a Hill EC-3000 compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your tank as a courtesy (4,250 PSI limit).
