Scope for field target
« on: January 17, 2019, 08:01:50 AM »
Which type of scope is best for field target shooting, 1st or 2nd focal plane?  There are probably many
other considerations one needs to take into account when selecting a scope for field target shooting,
help with options would be appreciated.  There are not any field target competitions shot close to Wichita.
A few of us air-gunners have been talking about getting one started.
 Thanks Danny

Repeatable range finding via Parallax is #1 followed by the MOST amount of rotation so as too separate yardages one will be marking on the side wheel or OBJ scale.

Then all the other stuff .... IMO

Price range?
I started with an Optisan Viper 4-16 and made a huge sidewheel for focus as Scott explained about parallax ranging.
I then went with a Sightron 10-50 H designed for FT by Hector Medina, kinda pricey tho. And it doesn't focus much past 60 yards, but for FT it is about the best there is to be offered.
Did it improve my scores, I think a little.
Buncha BB guns that I don't get to shoot as much as I like. Grinding out a living on the farm.
