Two New Rats!
« on: February 26, 2020, 04:33:19 PM »
My first rat sniping post here, and since I got home from work so late, I could just snap a picture of them on the Critter Cam.  I'm hoping they are getting comfortable dining at the buffet and will be back this weekend so I can introduce them to the new Talon Slugs I'm testing!  More to come...

Those aren't rats! If you really want to see a rat, take a trip to Baltimore, and stroll the walking path along the Patapsco river (if you have the guts!). The photo gives you an idea how large they are, as this one is laying atop a pint Vodka bottle.

Moral to the story is, hard drinking will kills ya!

When I was a kid living in Belgium, I recall my Dad pulling the family over to opposite side of the cobblestone street to avoid the cat sized rat running along the other side. I had no idea rats got that big. YUGE, I tells ya, YUGE!

Yea, I think that rat had a little too much vodka!  LOL!  If we had rats that big here, I'd be able to justify buying a Big Bore!  The rats and mice I have out back are great for honing precision shooting skills, they are small and fast, so they require a steady hand and keen eye!

If I weren't in city limits you know I'd break out the .257 Texan or .257 Citrus, or heck for that matter any of the big bores just to have fun. What on earth would a 730 grain .575 bullet in a Quackenbush do to a rat at 30 yards?  :o

Introduced one of the rats to Mr. Talon this afternoon...

I'm hoping to get the other one this weekend...  I used Alan's tip and painted the back of the Talon Slugs with a white acrylic paint marker, it does make the slug much more visible in flight!

Good shooting!

I have a couple visitors but they are teenage rats. Gonna let them grow for a bit.  ;D

The other one was back this morning.  I'm hoping he'll be around this evening after dark so I can text my tracer slugs using the IR Lamp and NV Mode.
