How to Vet an Airgun Buyer or Seller before you get scammed.

To vet a prospective airgun buyer or seller:

1. How many posts do they have on the forum where the ad is?

2. Does the buyer/seller have posts on the other forums? GatewaytoAirguns.org, AirgunNation.com, AirgunGuild.com etc.

3. Does the buyer/ seller have positive feedback on any of these forums?

     https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?board=34

     https://www.airgunnation.com/forum/classifieds/transaction-feedback/

It behooves us all to give feedback after a transaction is complete. I will do so for you, on the three main forums I hangout on and that will help with future buying and selling. Once you are happy I ask the same of you. We help each other.

4. An AirgunNation there is a scam list you should look through when buying or selling.

5. I google email addresses, physical street addresses (look on maps and a vacant lot is telltale..), and phone numbers, as well as looking on Facebook to see if a buyer/seller has any postings there.

6. If I am unsure about a buyer/seller, I'll ask to call and chat.

7. You can do a reverse image lookup for ad images, and sometimes find a scammer that way if images have been stolen from others.

8. Ask a lot of questions especially only those an owner would know.

9. There are a lot of scammers, and thieves out there. Be careful,  and VET them Carefully.

Please feel free to add to this list.

Here's another.

This is a web site I use a lot: https://ip-address-lookup-v4.com You can enter a name, email address, of IP address, and see if there are any complaints. If there are, it is a giveaway for lack of integrity.

I have a Hill EC-3000 compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your tank as a courtesy (4,250 PSI limit).
