mtc connect 3-12 32x on the warp anybody?
« on: January 29, 2017, 09:17:16 AM »
so trying to figure out what scope to put on the warp ... i'm trying to keep the warp as compact as pos. and i do like my face right in the scope my swfa's have a 3-4" eye relief and i have a hard time keeping my head back because i like the gun stock short ..i know move the scope forward right ...but the scope only moves forward so much because of the mag. so anyways was thinking of the connect 3-12x32 or 24 but because of the way u must mount them rings up front just was wondering if anybody has tried it .....in the jeep with stock folded the connect would be nice because u could put your eye right there not 4" off the scope ... also 24mm or 32mm the 24 would give me lots of room to move scope back or forward to get the right spot for my pull ... but they say the 24 has a better fod  just always looked for big never at small like 42-50-56mm
i would of put this in the scope post but i'm after what scope is best for warp
i would like to go over 10x
swfa 12x on slayer
swfa 16x on flex
? on warp

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

I borrowed my sons Connect being it was not on a rifle at the moment ...
Mounted it up on WarP and played with holds and stock adjustment not really finding it as flexible as a conventional rifle scope.

Connect has such SHORT eye relief it only can get used with your nose touching eye cup ... so when butt stocks out the scope position needs to be way back so your not leaning excessively forward to get comfortable with eye positioning.
Then when you collapse stock to make gun compact the scope has you having to hold you head back to get a good view  :P
I thought OFFHAND work with a collapsed stock would be easy with the Connect ... IT IS NOT !!!  :-[

i thought about mounting it on the first ring mounts before the mag with two or one ring that way it would put the scope a lot more forward...
how was the scope at 15x as good as others -clear good glass ETC..... could u see the cross hairs good ?????

With a more typical LOP having gun set up with a conventional scope with @ 3" eye relief, this was the required position the MTC Connect required to be viewed with same stock positioning.
To set scope / mount further forward would have the HOLD of the WarP more bullpup in position and that creates a whole new set of holding issues being gun has no fore stock to hold onto ... just bottle  ???
