I have a decent Delta drill press, but it was always a bit wobblier than it should be. Using it as a milling machine is probably the reason. I replaced the bearings in it which fixed the issue at least for awhile. Then one of my friends who is a first-rate machinist, "borrowed" it. When it returned, the bearings had been replaced with of all things, front axle bearings from a Ford something or other. Well, I've been using it now for 5 years or so partly as a milling machine, and it is still solid!

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

*DRILL PRESS:* A tall upright machine useful for suddenly snatching flat metal bar stock out of your hands so that it smacks you in the chest and flings your beer across the room, denting the freshly-painted project which you had carefully set in the corner where nothing could get to it.

Most of my stuff is done in plastic, and you're dead on with that too. The material I used is a self-reenforcing acetyl. It snatches even worse than a aluminum, so I tie it down.

I like the specs and the capabilities listed, and its a reasonable price from several sources.

Nice choice.
