Airgun Specific Work Bench?
« on: November 08, 2016, 08:40:28 PM »
I'm thinking I'm going to build an Airgun specific work bench. Need to comfortably hold a large air rifle and have storage for all the stuff I've collected. A holding device for rifles so I can both work on the rifles and test shoot them into a quiet pellet trap. Even thinking of a big cardboard tube lined with foam to act as a jumbo LDC or SBD. (Sonic busting device).

Guys want to share some of your awesome bench setups?

I have a couple of these and they work great.

I mounted one with a vice with wooden sleeves and a full on vice and roll them around where I need them. I put a lead sled on one for working on projects.

I'd be interested in seeing this as well as I'm in the process of setting up a full blown
airgun work area be it repair, fill station, or chronograph stations and would love to see other's setup's for ideas.

I like wood. I built a bench 25 years ago to fit in my garage in San Francisco. Still have it. It's outside and a bit weathered, but I'm chewing on sanding it down, oiling it, and making some changes to make it more flexible, like a hinged extension, closed cabinet etc. I like it though where it is, next to the grill and smokers.

Cheap 2x lumber will work in a pinch. Am thinking of gluing up a bunch of 2x4s on the long faces to make a nice thick heavy bench top. I hate a bench that moves.

Lot of chewing before I commit.

Bench | Extension | Concrete Tube with Foam Insert Hanging Down | Inline Chrony | Silent Pellet Trap (up to .58 caliber)

Wood Vice?

Lot of stuff to consider.

I'm a college student so I live in a dorm. My airguns work area is a folding table.
