The contest is over!

Okay everyone, it is over! Here is a copy of the spread sheet on the scoring. If any of the participants sees an error, now is the time to connect it. From what "I" have, it appears BKnowlin is the winner.

General Airgun Forum Discussion / Re: About an really old PPC air rifle

Thanks for your help, I am attempting to find a copy of Antique Big-bore Airguns DVD.  A opportunity
to hold and examine an airgun well over a hundred years old will be taken.  I am amazed by the skill
of the maker who without modern equipment or materials made working airguns.
I am not an air-gun collector, but I do enjoy looking over/learning about how antique guns were made
and work.  I had over 30 old Crosman, Benjamin, and other makes of airguns stored in the attic for 30+
years.  I since am no longer interested in collecting airguns I have been repairing and selling them to
finance modern PCP's air guns (with a springer thrown in) I enjoy shooting.  Danny

Glad to see the chair working! :)

Nice work on the rats. I think you need to come over to the dairy and show me how this night thing works. Now that I've got my Streamline dialed in (didn't take long) I think it's time to step up my game.

Airgun Ammo / Re: .308 154gr BBT

Yes, Steelhead is sniffing around. I've considered pouring my own; I already have the lead pot and equipment for making spoons and jigs for fishing. In all honesty, I'm still working on more tangible things like which size bullet my gun likes to eat, specific air pressure for best performance, etc.

There's so much more for me to learn about performance, accuracy, and shooting technique. When I first got my gun a year and a half ago I was making too many changes at once and it was hard to keep track of what was working and what was not.

When it comes to bullets for my .308 Texan the most consistent and accurate have been 118 gr. cast flat point.

That being said, there's something to be said for the satisfaction of making your own projectiles... much like tying your own flies, building your own lures, etc.  I tip my cap to those that do because they've already acquired the basic skills of how to tune/work on their gun and how to use the data that the gun is feeding them.

This is better than watching a cop show!

It is indeed rare. There were several ones made, which looked almost identical. If you have a copy of the Blue Book of Airguns, you can look up their heritage.

General Airgun Forum Discussion / About an really old PPC air rifle
« Last post by d_boom on October 14, 2018, 06:49:08 PM »
I met a guy at a gun show who owns a muzzle loading PPC air rifle.  The air tank is a round ball
located just ahead of the trigger guard under the rifle.  He also has the pump used to charge the
air tank, but it no will pump air.  The air gun belonged to his father.  He has a story of his father
dropping a pencil down the bore and firing the pencil through a 1" board.  From the pictures he
sent this is a very old air gun.  I have an invitation to exam this air gun, any suggestion about
what to look for?   Danny

Look up Umarex Owners Group.
Also, the trigger may be the same as on rifle models so check YouTube for Umarex trigger.
