Our squirrel season is long gone, but I'm still shooting them. The law here allows such shenanigans, if they're pesting. Since my hunting permissions include about 50 acres of pecan trees, any squirrels you find inside the orchard are fair game.

I've occasionally taken them home to eat, but this time of year the local population are rather skinny and not worth the effort.

One thing I am surprised at, is your cleaning right on the spot. If I did that, I'd just get out the small camp stove and have lunch!

Went for a very quick scouting trip into the Osceola National Forest and set up on some random oaks right before dark. Got one quick then spent the rest of the time fielding off work emails in between movements of cell reception. Still a nice evening in the woods.
