Airgun Tanks, Compressors and Filling / Re: Compressor Explosion
« on: December 13, 2017, 06:03:00 AM »
We're pretty sure it was an improperly installed breather that caused pressure to build up in the crankcase, which blew the end off it.... It looks like the pressure involved was pretty low, perhaps a good thing the aluminum is so thin.... We're not dealing with an HPA event here....

thanks bob for sweeping the BS away surrounding these cheap know they so cheap I decided to order the pressure customized unit and it functions perfectly...I have to admit I knew there was no HPA explosion just by looking at picture...the only problem I had was my girlfriend ask me what was in that big box fed-ex delivered and I told her it was pellets and she ask in a box that big?i said ya and I don't think she believed me...

WOW how many air gunners have been killed so far?i did see two explosions that happened but they were user error not really the fault of the cheap compressor.

so what compressor should we buy?what is the cost of the compressors we should buy?who should we order it from?will they have an air breather that needs installed?

I see some guys wanting to stand up for these cheap compressors but I think you guys just threw money away and I am guessing you will come to realize that soon enough (I hope I am wrong). I get by having a tank filled for now but I will buy probably air venturi. It's a reliable name, the price is about as good as they get for now but who knows what the future may bring.  Thanks everyone for your input.
no martin I think you are wrong.i see guys standing up against guys like you calling them are they cheaply made or cheap in cost?do you own one?have you ever pump anything up with one?so how can you call it cheap?so you think guys should get a tank and drive 65 miles to get them filled?
I have one and its beats pumping,we see how long they last and how many airgunners get killed using them..,i still pump my discos and maximus....

Yup, had to be plugged breather. I've seen other pictures where they have a red plug screwed into the hole where the breather, (long black piece) is supposed to go, and the breather, (long black piece) is in the plastic bag, that the accessories come in. You're supposed to remove the red plug, toss it in the trash, and install the long black vent, after you add the oil. I've got a Yong Heng, similar, but not exactly like the one that blew, and it has worked so well, I ordered another as a back-up. My original is 110 volt, and the one I just ordered is 220, has an auto cut-off, and will be used in my barn where I have 220 easily accessible, and I'll plumb the cooling water into my home water system. I've viewed all the youtube videos, of all the different makes of these compressors, and some of the much more expensive ones appear to have the same basic compressor as the Yong Heng, just more fancy add on's, like a built in radiator, more robust pressure cut-off switch, moisture trap, etc.  :)
I was thinking of a backup also.not pumping makes a huge difference...

UPDATE:after filling Mrods many times only thing I can say is it takes 27 seconds to fill Mrod after shooting three 8 shot clips.oh and I had to order more pellets(four tins of JSBs)...temp to 29.9c...the break in period is over and the yong heng is getting a oil change...I hate to say it but I don't think there will be any type of life threatening explosion here, maybe someplace else if a unit gets abused...

Some folks have has issues with this compressor because they installed the crankcase vent incorrectly. Apparently, the instructions are a bit vague.

One advantage the Omega compressors have, is a radiator with a fan, and an enclosed cooling system. Yes they are expensive, but if you're like me, and you shoot almost every day, you'll get to the point of needing something better too!
with the addition of the yong heng I shoot every day.when I am finished hunting for the day I used to pack it in and go home with what charge is left in rifle and what pellets are left in the I shoot both clips outs and not worry about air...for just filling rifles like I do the "cheap explosive yong heng" does the job so far and hasn't exploded yet.
running out of water could do damage.hooking up permanent water lines would be the way to go...remember if it can go wrong it will.the weak link seems to be cooling system not the unit itself...but there are those that think it cheap and at any time will explode killing everything around it...
not installing air breather will let unit run until crankcase pressure builds then unit will not start up,if running for a long time without breather in place could cause the dreaded explosion.but would that be the units fault or the guy that cant read Chinese?

My New 45 cal Hercules, 2 days old is BROKE already. Was VERY VERY hard to cock. Shot all over the place while trying to sight in. Today, on last shot, valve stuck open, letting all the air out. Now it will not fill, air coming out barrel, and will not cock! Sent an email to Pyramyd, haven't heard back yet. VERY disappointing for sure. :(
I have never had a hatsan last very long at all...two days old so you can return it,do not tear it apart send it back to PA they have great return policy...

OFF TOPIC / Re: Hillary Clinton and Mentally Challenged Children
« on: September 27, 2016, 01:02:18 AM »
When Bill Clinton was Governor of Arkansas, a group of mentally challenged children were having an Easter egg hunt on the Governor's mansion lawn. The children were having a hard time finding the eggs. Hillary became impatient and was overheard asking "When are they going to get those F****** Retards out of here"?

Hillary called sweet, innocent children 'F****** R******'. The mentally challenged have a hard time in life and bullies like Hillary don't help. I went to school with some mentally challenged kids. One of them couldn't even talk. He could only communicate by making sounds. Hillary called children such as him 'F****** R******'. Hillary is a cruel woman.
this is some story,do you have facts to back this up?maybe you were there to hear it?sounde like BS to me...isn't this an air gun forum?

I have a smooth bore wing shot so they may shoot good.i just wonder if the extra shot would make the pellets travel too slow and not be as effective than the lighter loads...
