Title: SS valve prototype for Bulldog installed and testing started
Post by: oldpro on January 09, 2018, 10:16:04 PM
Finally got the Bulldog SS valve rocking and even had a little chronograph time today so Things are finally moving ahead. The first one didnt last long but the second prototype is hanging in there well.

My Brother-in-Law sure would like one when they are ready. :) Just received my .25 Marauder SS Valve and lightweight hammer. Can't wait to install them.

Some numbers to chew on for now
 stock gun 160-170 FPE
modded with .305 TP 200-220 FPE
modded with SS Valve 302 FPE
These numbers are as tested here at the shop 4k feet elevation 38 degrees 100% humidity
The above testing was done with Nozzlers 145 grain slugs. The stock and modded gun made top power at 2500-2600 PSI before valve lock took over and the SS valve made Top power at 3100 PSI.

This is lost on me, as where I do most of my hunting is in an exurban area, just outside the city limits. However, if I were into bigger game, a Bulldog with 300 FPE is enough to bring down a big whitetail if the shot is placed well. To say nothing about devastating a feral hog!

Like you Chris, I may just HAVE TO have one.

Tuned at 250ish fpe range for 4-5 shots would be ideal for a coyote gun. Would really like to have a slayer but this would be more in my price range.

It will never be a Slayer but we can approach Slayer arena Power.
