Should I expect much more in efficiency than this?
« on: October 18, 2018, 05:34:53 PM »
I have a .22 Marauder that I have piddled with off and on over the last few years to get the best efficiency I could @30fpe with JSB 18gr pellets.  As it is right now, it provides 35 shots within 3%, unregulated, 3000-1800psi.  This meets my needs for hunting tree rats, but it leaves me with a couple of lingering questions:

1. Should I expect to be able to reach a higher efficiency with minor modifications?

2. The barrel is a MM barrel 2-3" shorter than a stock barrel, how significant is that small difference in efficiency?

Why mess with perfection?

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

That's pretty much how I feel about it too.  It's really more of an academic question than wanting to rebuild anything.
