QB79 rides again
« on: August 06, 2017, 09:28:17 AM »
My old .177 QB79 sprung a leak and it only took me four times taking it apart and putting back together before I sorted it out. I think the Harbor Freight Orings may have been part of the problem. Another issue was the single CO2 cartridge adapter I was using was not working properly. It would initially fill the rifle but then would stop filling as though it had developed vapor lock or something. I'd scratch my head and think, where did all the CO2 go? I'd go to remove the cartridge and suddenly find out I had plenty of CO2 as my frozen hand proved.

Gave up on that and installed a full steel tank and everything worked!

I hacked on a spare valve yesterday and will see if I can exceed the current 750 fps I'm currently getting. I think HPA tank is in my future! It'll be a perfect Rat Gun with it's Rocker1 LDC.  ;D
