Title: .25 Armada losing air at completion of fill
Post by: Steelhead on February 08, 2018, 05:10:06 PM
My Armada is losing air when I fill the gun off of my tank. The pressure drop varies...one time it drops to 1200, the next to 900. The air is being lost from the tank valve when I bleed off the pressure to disconnect my hose; it just keeps going. Not sure what causes this...any thoughts?

Try bleeding the fill hose quickly.... sometimes a slow bleed causes the check valve in the gun to not "snap" closed and causes the type of loss you are describing....

I put in a new poppet in my Sumatra the other day and it did the same thing. I pointed the barrel down, opened valve, and whacked the top of the gun at the receiver as it was taking in air. I heard the tell tail click of  what I think was the check valve. Bled and it’s behaved since.

Am I understanding correctly? You are losing air before you disconnect the fill hose? If so you need to remove the fill nipple (after degassing) and clean the corrosion on the check valve.

I figured it was probably a check valve related issue. I loaned it to my brother to kill a skunk family (he's up to four and counting) that have taken residence under his house. He brought it back for a refill and that's when I noticed it. I gave him my Prowler so he could keep on de-stinkifying his place until I get the .25 fixed.

Easy fix. Remove fitting, push pin out, remove O-ring, clean up pin with steel wool, lube pin with silicon, reassemble.

My new rifle just out of nowhere started leaking. Used a little soapy water and found it to be the fill nipple. Replaced oring and good to go.

That's the same exact issue I had with the disco.  I bled the fill hose quickly instead of slowly releasing the air and that seemed to do the trick for me.  Good luck

The stainless fill nipple that Travis is selling are incredible.  I put one on my Mrod and it's way better than stock.  My gun fills faster from my tank, it's day and night difference.

Agreed.
