.20 Mrod in the works!
« on: August 13, 2017, 09:31:32 AM »
I've always wanted a PCP in .20 cal. Don't ask me why cause I have no reason to convince anybody that it's better than a .177 or .22 but just I want one. Something different and unique. Well I talked to Roy at Mountain Air Customs who makes drop in .177 and .22 LW barrels and drop in .30 TJs for Mrods. Looking through his website I see he also makes other guns with .20 LW barrels. So I had to ask and he said of course he can make me a barrel. Gonna do a .20 LW with a single shot tray built into the barrel. Then going to use my .177 and make a new front on it using the bolt and use the oring on the bolt instead of in the barrel. $250 for this. Picked up a Refurb .177 Synrod for $340. Custom .20 Mrod for under $600. I'm very excited! Have a leftover MDS hammer and believe some other goodies from Travis. Once he gets his new valve done I plan on picking one up for the ultimate efficiency in this gun.

You remind me of the farmer who had a dairy cow with 5 teats on her udder. He never know which pair to start with!

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

Or which pair to finish with or how to do one?

I always liked the .20 in my pumper and imagine it would be awesome in a PCP.  The only thing I would worry about at all would be overpenetration.  There are not a tone of .20 pellets but there are probably enough to find one that drives tacks.

Thanks all! Yeah I can say I definitely like to try new things and change it up! I can't wait to get this under way. Found a MDS hammer at 29grams from my buddy Rocker1, TSS from Travis, a few different TPs of various sizes and a aftermarket depinger.

In a PCP at @ 20 ft lbs .... the .20 is vastly superior to a .177  ;)
