Things you see at 3 am
« on: October 04, 2016, 12:02:43 AM »
I am down on the Cape Cod canal camping.
It's about 3 am and I stepped out side to get some air.
Wouldn't you know it but a doe walked by me and didn't even notice me or care that I was there.
Sorry no photos, I left my phone in the camper.
Just had to pass this on

Dave

Most deer hunters don't realize that deer can be very curious. Many years ago, I was hunting with my dad in western Kansas. I'd been walking for several hours, and sat on a rock to rest. A herd of deer came by me, and one doe walked over to me. She stuck her nose directly on mine, sniffed a couple of times, and slowly walked off. In the mean time, I just sat. And soon, a rather nice buck walked by, but he didn't get very far before a 257 Ackley-improved Robert's slammed his broadside. It pays to have patients!

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

Hi
It was pretty cool. The doe just strolled on by looked at me and kept on going.
Wish I could have taken a photo

Nature arrives and interacts without warning, most of the time. :)
