North of Mendocino. Actually camped at Westport RV campgrounds, I guess, looking at the map, though it said Carson's on the sign. Drove down after staying a couple of days to see the glass beach at Ft Bragg. Ugly from the path, but once down on the left side of the parking lot we found a couple of beaches practically made of smooth glass pieces. Fun for our boy to spend hours collecting colourful things in a small bottle. Been driving and camping at state parks as we progress back North, currently sitting by a campfire (in a steel ring) at South Beach State Park next to Newport, Oregon. Bandon was very nice. Carson was nicest though. Oh, and we had a heated yurt at Brookings CA, with a lovely beach and pretty sunset. November's a nice time to be on the coast. Wet in Vancouver, but nicer down here. A bit cooler than last November, but then we went to Southern California and drove North from Anaheim so I guess a very different climate up to SF. Sure will be neat if they ever get that high speed train going down the coast.
No signs of fire around southern Oregon except one logging site by 101 where a huge pile of slash was making a lot of smoke. Surprised me that they were allowed to burn logging slash with the fire risk so obvious, but a roadside sign actually stated the risk was low near there so what the heck do I know...
