I saw that he was pretty ill but nothing about hospice. I have enjoyed his posts.

It is sad, and something we see more and more as we age.  Recently, I was trying to look up a two brothers who were my friends in 6-7th grade. I found that one died about 8 years ago, and the other two years ago.  During the time I knew these fellows, my Dad was in Vietnam, and we were in SC for that year, close to family. Though it was only a year, these two guys were a huge influence on me. Mark and David taught me how to lay in wait for birds and squirrels, and how to kill them with my pellet rifle, and how to clean and cook them. I have vivid memories of this time.

I think of these two brothers, and I think of my long departed Dad, and now I think of Booger, and it reminds me that life is very short, and it can be taken from us at any time. So, we must enjoy folks now. The past is gone, and the future is unknown. Seize the Day.
