Hammering the 200 yd EBR Targets-Video
« on: September 10, 2016, 03:47:41 PM »
Just seeing what my gun with latest barrel can do, at 200 yds on Airguns of Arizona Extreme Benchrest Target........I have done it with 3 different bullets and 90 shots over several times I put one up. I shot average 15 shots on a single target, so have 6 good targets over those 90 shots. I think 8 nines all rest 10's and X count........Gun works.........

That's some outstanding shooting. I also watched your 1/2 mile soda jug shoot. Excellent. ;)
Buncha BB guns that I don't get to shoot as much as I like.

Looks good Carl.  Are you going to EBR?

Keep in mind in Arizona the wind is extreme.  Last year the wind was so high the gusts would blow your gun around.  Your gun and skills would shake things up there....

Thanks.  No Couldn't Care Less about EBR........Just shot the target and posted 1 video,  have others, especially after all the flack being thrown around from last years match.... I have posted my thoughts on competing before. I used to compete in NM, AZ, NV, CA all through 90's at 1000 yds. Travel and full time work, job....Past several years did the 2 local monthly F-Class matches to 1000 yds.  Until LAST year got interested in  AIRGUN, specifically .257 and just want to see how far I could go and as accurate as I could make it...Have succeeded.  I had an entire wall full of trophies that are all boxed up somewhere  now... I hate to DRIVE anymore hours upon hours in a car an don't.

I know i would do well at AZ but who cares?.......YES I know ALL ABOUT WIND. I competed for 9 yrs straight at WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS at Raton NM. That CAN be a brutal range....I have shot in 45 mph winds there... Here where I do the Video's last year at a 1000 yd match was at least 30+ mph. Person getting up from spotting chairs and they were GONE. Had to chase them down.  Doug told me that last EBR during the 200 yd they said 15 mph but was down range mostly and NOT FULL VALUE cross range, so easier that match.

First time Doug came up to local range and shot with me, wind always builds as day goes on and another friend got out his meter and was 12 mph FULL VALUE. crosswind......Always blows from 9 to 3 o'clock. We were shooting clays at 225 yds.....No problem....Last spring my local range have to shoot 100 OR 225 yds. Shot the EBR target in 8-10 mph full cross wind and did fine. I reversed target and shot the tan side with 10 ring sized circle  8)

Also AOA doesn't have a clue about and OPEN CLASS EXTREME BENCHREST MATCH........For the SUPPOSEDLY ultimate in AIR accuracy CLASS, CAN'T TETHER.......What a crock.......I can see in pellets and hunting class it is fine.  That alone frosts me. Also shooting black target at 200 yds, my 1/4" bullet hole can't be seen and especially in mirage.   SO, how can you correct when you don't know where you are hitting......??? Very Least the sighter target should be WHITE and then with mirage is hard to see small hole if at all.....

So No NICK, I can compete at home with powder with some of the best shooters in the state, and have no interest in making a 1350 mi round trip to shoot an airgun ;D

I guess I could have just said NO, and not write a term paper   ;)  But I have reasons  :)

Thanks for compliment. I was actually pleased with that target, as I expect a lot.........257, All the bullets are stardard available molds, all gas checked. The video was with the 257388 Arsenal Mold, I have stills and videos of the Noble 92 LFN gas checked, and 257420 all shooting the EBR targets and all shot well. The 257420 mold, seems to shoot better in my prior barrel I shot for 3 months??? All Arsenal molds. I have LBT, NOE and Arsenal for me makes my best bullets... I don't even make bullets with the other molds now.

Of my 2 premium barrels, one is a Button Rifled at 14 twist. The one on this video and newest one is a Cut Rifled Barrel and I chose a 13 twist just because. They are each from a different barrel Co. Just check the best long distance match grade barrel makers and anyone can order one they are all good.. I get mine to finish at 34" and a straight cylinder turned to 1.100" dia........They cost $650 each.......Then to fit a CONDOR, gunsmith has to turn a lot away to fit hammer and breach bolt and into the frame. Then chamber and crown which I use a RECESSED FLAT CROWN  on all my powder competition rifles. Custom chamber reamer from Pacific Tool and Gauge. This adds another $250 to barrel cost, not counting the reamer.......I have a couple of TJ $180 barrels and there is NO comparison to mine now. The TJ is fine for minimal cost and plinking and I still work with one of mine with a tuner and is fine for the $$$$$........But for my quest of absolute best accuracy and long distance with an airgun, you get what you pay for........
