Just a quick hack video on how I get my pellets to show so well in my hunting and pesting videos.

Your luck is better than mine.

I too tried white, and it does work well, until you shoot elevated, say at a pigeon on a wire. After trying several colors, I found that neon red works better for me. And I don't use paint per se. I apply concentrated Tempera paint using a piece of small glass tubing (≈/132 inch OD from Hobby Lobby), sort of like a capillary tube. Takes longer to the sure, but the only surface the paint get on, is well inside the skirt hollow.

When doing night shots, glow in the dark Tempera paint works really well as it reacts to the IR light source.
