Chipmunk Smack Shot #3 (Video)
« on: July 03, 2018, 08:42:51 PM »
Yet another in the super short series known as a Smack Shot.

This is number 3 on a Chipmunk only 25 yards away. It's a devastating hit! In the still photo thumb nail you can see the pell JUST before it makes contact.

Enjoy!

Your videos are always the best—sound effects and all!

This sort of leads to a question since you do so many fine videos. Over the years, I think I've only hd two or three instances where I actually saw red mist in the shots I've taken. I wonder how often you see it when editing your videos?

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

Yes it happens often.  Because I try to capture at the highest frame rate I can it comes at the cost of resolution so more times than not the shot clarity is degraded to the point where the mist will appear more grey or whitish due to the lower resolution. I have capture some pretty brutal frames where the lighting, frame rate and resolution were at the right setting and wow

I bet you do!

I bring this up for a reason. Standard speed videos depicting hits on say prairie dogs with a 223 or 22-250 are well known scenarios. But I suspect the average airgunner seldom 'sees' what an actual pellet hit produces. Not as dramatic to be sure, but almost as brutal.
