For me airguns are just little play guns and that it.Nothing more imo. Imo skill is lacking in airguns. Teach any one trigger control and there's that. I find pb's to be more exciting. I don't have to wait for pellets to arrive or find air. Just pick up my any of my pb's and shoot. Ammo for pb's is very close to me.

I personally have hit my climax with airguns long time ago. Now I am in the falling action phase.

 GLPalinkas

 1. shoot pb's in backyard sold all airguns cuz they suck
 2. forget neighbors and friends kick them to the curb
 3. practice pb's tournaments in backyard
 4. Economy of pb's
 5. challenge of pb's at different distance. at all distance. 25m-1200m
 6. I can tinker with them
 7. Its easy for me to hit a 2" target with my past marauder .25 cal as it is easy for me to do it at 300 yards.

But each to his on. I find everything in life intolerable vain and quite frankly leaving a bad taste in my mouth. SO why airguns? Idk, sold them suckers long time ago

Not quite sure the negativity as you used to be all for Airguns  ???

I have to agree.  That was pretty much you just telling us you don't shoot air rifles anymore.  Considering this is an "air rifle/gun" forum.  So you had no positives with shooting air rifles?  Most find it more challenging than shooting PB's, and the economy of pb's---we all are kind of confused at that one, since ammo wise they are not economical.  Sure, PB rifles and guns are sometimes better priced than some of the air rifles/guns we buy or build.  Don't see why you kicking friends and neighbors to the curb comes into play, either.  But, to each their own.  If you enjoy PB's, good on you.

Moving along to the positive.  In the two weeks that I have had my Wildcat, I have gone through at least 3000 pellets hunting, and sighting in, trying different pellets.  Shooting a gun this accurate has re-energized me.  The real problem is I am neglecting the yard and my wife, I have been shooting so much.   :o  The upside, if she gets mad and leaves me, I won't have to justify more guns.   ;D

Airguns are just plain fun to shoot.  Every time I go to the range, the other guys notice my SCBA bottle eventually drop by to ask about my guns.  Some have expressed interest and I let them shoot if they want.  Getting others interested is not a bad thing.

1. I like the quietness I get in the shot for the power yielded at the target. I can shoot w/o ear protection which means I get to talk to the friends I'm shooting with, so for me, air guns are more social than powder guns. On a range at least. Until guys show up with the big bores or Korean guns.  ;D

2. I like that I don't need a license, a permit, anything, in my state anyway. I can order/buy guns and ammo and they're legal to use in my backyard, if I had a backyard suitable for shooting in.

3. I also kind of geek out over the idea that's it's just air that's doing this. I mean it's fun and wonderful for me until math and science get involved so there's a ton about mods and such that goes right over my head but I'm trigger happily blissfully ignorant on those things.

As I get older, fewer and fewer experiences bring me much joy... especially with much of today's technology.  But airguns always seemed to rekindle the joys I felt when I was first introduced to them when I was a boy.  It is approaching airgun season for me, (mid to late summer, leading into fall), and every year at this time, those old childhood joys seem to come flooding back... and of course I usually act on those joys with a new airgun purchase, along with any ammo and field support gear.

I am blessed to live on acreage that allows me to shoot high power powder burners, but I love that I can hone shooting skills right in my back yard with my airguns.  Ammo is cheap, although not as cheap as it once was, and I can shoot all day in peace and quiet.  Airguns have also introduced me to one of the coolest outdoor events, Field Target.  I don't shoot Field Target enough, and every year I always plan to shoot more... maybe this is the year I will do just that.

As an older man, to have a sport bring me the joy I felt as a young boy with as much intensity as did way back then, what is not to love... very few things in life have a much replay value as airguns!

I agree with everybody except Jay ---> "I find everything in life intolerable vain and quite frankly leaving a bad taste in my mouth".  You are either playing the devils advocate or you need therapy. What are you doing in an air gun forum?
Nobody has mentioned the most important reason to me, it's FUN.
