Decisions,Decisions
« on: July 30, 2016, 06:05:01 PM »
I've been saving up to buy a compressor, but do I get an air charger or do I get aF10? filling time isn't that big a deal so I could go either way.OR do I go ahead and order my next rifle, which was going to be a flex, but then Mr. Whitney came out with WARP and complicated my life even further!
So question is, WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

If ya get a compressor ya going to need a bigger pellet budget, cause your going to shoot a lot more with all that air.
If ya get the gun ya going to wish you had a compressor and more pellets to shoot.
Sounds like you wont need all the pellets after all cause ya going to be working 2 jobs and wont have no shooting time ;D

When I look at the compressors, I keep looking at the initial cost and maintenance involved. I suppose my question would be, what makes it a better option than a nitrogen tank?  For personal use, I mean.

I can see the value of a compressor for someone like Travis who charges multiple guns every day, and doesn't want to ship the average Joe his rifle with nitrogen in it...

Dillon, your posts and Travis' video are what got me thinking about another gun first, leaning heavily towards the WARP.I have a tiger shark and places to get air so a compressor is a convenience thing.
Mark, a nitrogen tank is something I have not checked into but will now that you mentioned it. I just figured it would be like everything else in our great state of confusion(Illinois),over regulated & way over priced.

Only locally available tanks are only 2250 psi. I think I'm going with a new rifle first and I think Travis confirmed my first instinct. Get a FLEX.

Buncha BB guns that I don't get to shoot as much as I like. Grinding out a living on the farm.

Airgunner incorrect. There are times when my Guppy tank is empty before noon time! Just three days ago, I pushed out nearly 200 pellet between 7 and 11.Best PD hunting I've experienced in many years.

By the way. I have a Freedom8, and I'm not that impressed with it. I suspect the 10 isn't much better, but it does have a bigger motor. If I had it to do all over again, I would have purchased and all-in-one compressor like the Omega.

I have an Omega compressor. If you're a fellow Guild member, and you pass through Roswell, NM, I'll fill your portable tank as a courtesy.

I have a Tiger Shark I got used from Airtanksforsale.  When it goes out of date I will replace it with the Great White.  I haven't counted all the fills I can get, but I can shoot a good bit before I have to have it refilled.  Local scuba shop charges $6.  I can get a lot of refills before I equal the cost of a compressor.  For the guys who have no local scuba shop, I can see the justification for a compressor.

I also vote for the Flex.  Absolutely a tack driver.  Definitely not a field gun for off-hand shooting, it is heavy, but for those times when you want a gun that will reach out there and touch a varmint, it is great.
