Bling
« on: February 22, 2018, 04:23:53 AM »
Several folks have ask for some Guild bling. Rather than try to buy articles of clothing, and hoping to get the right mix of sizes, I thought it might make sense to buy some iron-on decals instead. In this case, duplicates of the Guild's flying star logo in 2x2 and 8x8 inches. In order to buy them, pay for the shipping to me, and to the members, the pair would have to sell for ≈$12.50. Hence the poll.

If you choose Option 3, please mention what else you might be willing to pay for. Perhaps a bumper sticker? Or window decal? Water bottle? You name it?

Do you know how long it would take me to find my iron??   ::)

Seriously, Iron-ons don't typically last very well in normal use, at least in my experience.   I'm not a big blinger, but I occasionally pop for a T-shirt, hat, cup or polo shirt.   I assume you have already looked into sites like Teespring who build their business out of customized bling items?

I'll look into the cap scenario too. That I can have done locally, but I'd bet an on line source would be less expensive.

I designed a logo for my dojo, and the wife of one of the guys had iron ons made. She ironed them on, and a year later, the shirt and iron on looks great. It's simple white logo on black t-shirt. I swear it looks like silk screen. I think the technology has greatly improved. I'll ask her who she used...

Sticker or hat.  Edit: Just read Stevos comment on the iron-on....was thinking of the old time iron-ons with the rounded edges that would always peel off.  If the quality is like a screenprint, I would be in..

I vote hat if they are high quality. Most of the cheep china made hats aren't woth the postage on them. Yea I’m willing to pay for quality. I would even pay for fitted hats, 7 1/2, I’ll buy a couple with embroidered logo. Forget the cheep junk.

Hat/Cap   --   Probably have to be "one size" to avoid having inventory issues.

I've been looking at caps. In order to get the price right, I have to order about 150. The minimum order is 72, which makes the caps about $10 each plus shipping. Still a lot of monies.
